A Hutton Hall Romance

Someone once said to me “love is a choice”, I immediately disagreed with them in my mind, thinking of the times I’ve been swept off my feet, those rare moments when you feel like you’ve fallen into a whirlwind and just for a moment, the rest of the world fades. Whilst we don’t always choose who we fall for, and you certainly can’t make up chemistry, you can choose to keep love alive by continually investing in each other and you can choose to accept love and let it grow.

Love can be many things, it can be patience, forgiveness, that feeling of being home. It’s not perfection and good times, it’s holding hands through the bad times. Being an Essex wedding photographer, I get to see all the different kinds of love, old love, young love, new love, enduring love, familiar love, selfless love, and unconditional love. When you break it down, a simple feeling like love can be complex! Yet, it’s something we all crave and don’t want to live without, because a world without love would be no world.

Love can mean something different for everyone, some people are lucky enough to find it early and hold onto it, and for others it can take a lifetime just to find it, which brings me to Matthew & Lauren. They were school sweethearts and they had already spent years together, you can see it in the way Lauren looks at Matthew how much she adores him, and the way Matthew speaks about Lauren is beautiful. They still do the little things together like dancing in the kitchen, and going on adventures, and it’s so clear to see this isn’t a couple who take each other for granted.

Lauren kept it simple, she got ready with just her mum and her bestie on a beautiful summer’s day at the stunning Hutton Hall wedding venue in Essex. Lauren looked like a dream in her delicate A-line vintage wedding gown from Grace and Lace in Chelmsford. The very talented Fai Archer did Lauren’s hair and makeup, she kept it very natural and she had that bridal glow which just radiated.

The styling throughout really brought to life all the joy of summer, exploding with colours and fresh flowers scattered everywhere, it just made me smile every time I walked into the room. Beverley from Fancy Faux Flowers did a wonderful job pulling it all together.

They completed their ceremony in the beautiful gardens under the gazebo with their closest friends and family, Lauren had the cutest little flower girl scattering fresh petals down the aisle, they read out their vows and Lauren’s mum read a poem. At the end of the ceremony there was so much happiness for this couple, with endless cuddles and beaming smiles from all the guests. It’s one of the biggest reasons I love being a wedding photographer, as it’s so uplifting to be around.

Lauren and Matthew went on to enjoy a very tasty three course meal, with all the jazz vibes from their gifted three piece acoustic band, which added to the already buzzing atmosphere. Some heartfelt and funny speeches followed, and the beaming smiles continued.

I managed to sneak them away from their guests to have some portraits taken in golden hour, we found a perfect spot at the front of the venue just before the sun went down and I created some cool sun glares with my camera. They then danced the night away with all their friends and family. Beautiful day, wonderful people, and memories to cherish forever more.
