The Lawn Wedding Venue

Emily & Ben’s Wedding at The Lawn

“We couldn’t recommend Hayley enough! Nothing was too much! She was professional and amazing throughout the day and the photos speak for themselves, so beautiful, thank you so much Hayley”

After meeting through a friend on a caravan holiday, Emily and Ben quickly fell head over heels for one another, before Ben took the opportunity while on a trip to Mexico. “We went for a long walk down the beach, enjoying a Mexican meal afterwards to celebrate,” says Emily.

Originally planning on saying, ‘I Do’ at Christmas in 2020, like many other couples Emily and Ben had to reschedule their wedding date due to the lockdown restrictions. Their new wedding date was in May 2021 and was my first celebration to photograph after the restrictions were eased. The couple were only allowed a limited number of guests, without any evening guests planned – but their special day was still truly magical, even if it wasn’t the initial wedding blueprint they’d previously had in mind.

The bride’s wedding make-up was done by the very talented Amy at Pure Indulgence in Leigh, with her hair styled by Zoey at Precisions in Eastwood. Her stunning bridal gown was from Chantilly Lace in Leigh on Sea - the bride was an absolute vision. Her bridal bouquet beautifully finished her aisle style, designed by Christine of Hockley.

They chose to get married at The Lawn, which is renowned as one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Essex. Making the most of the beautiful spring weather, Emily and Ben opted to have their ceremony in the grounds of the venue. True soul mates, the newlyweds cried throughout the ceremony, and it was incredibly emotional to capture on camera.

Following their ceremony, the couple enjoyed an utter feast of a wedding breakfast with their closest friends and family, with plenty of wine, good food and lots of laughter! Their reception tables were scattered with romantic velvet-soft red rose petals, as well as golden vases overflowing with blooms that matched the bridal bouquet. They had a subtle nod towards the pandemic, with personalised antibacterial hand gels as wedding favours – a super fun touch!

The bride’s dad surprised them both with a snow machine to recreate the wintery Christmas wedding they were supposed to have – a truly sentimental touch. The speeches took place, the couple cut the cake and they savoured every second of a long- awaited wedding day.

As my first wedding post-lockdown, it was an absolute pleasure to document Emily and Ben’s emotional and memorable wedding day! I hope you enjoy scrolling through their gorgeous wedding in Essex.
